CNY fever

never mind the computer viruses; the Chinese New Year fever is not far behind....

one can vouch that this will be a very quiet CNY - no parties, no to-ing and fro-ing of mandarins, no visiting in the humidity, no frolicking in decor and the lot - just a relaxing, laidback, well-earned rest.
The minute you lift the phone to talk to someone, or answer an incoming call, and wham! you're in the thick of all the arrangements, the rush to buy the best mandarins, the onset of invitations and counter-invitations - and before you know it - the whole CNY period is packed with activities.

Guess you have to look at it from the positive side - you are still wanted, you are still recognised, and you have friends... albeit, a very expensive affair of ang-pows and gifts.

I'm so glad CNY comes but only once a year.
